Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery
People are likely to assume that incisional double eyelid surgery would create non-natural-looking double eyelids and has a very negative impression about this procedure due to the idea of cutting off of the skin. However, a highly skilled plastic surgeon can perform the incisional technique that can create a natural result as of non-incisional double eyelid technique.
In case of incisional double eyelid surgery, it is important for a doctor to design a double eyelid line and make the double eyelid pursuant to the design. Therefore, if a patient is not satisfied with the double eyelid line, it is usually a matter of the double eyelid designing competence of the doctor, not a technique itself. The surgeons play a very important role in this type of technique.
Non-incisional double eyelid surgery
Non-incisional double eyelid surgery was originated from the idea of creating the fold by burying permanent sutures. It is a popular aesthetic procedure due to a quick recovery period and a natural result. Some doctors are reluctant to perform this method due to complications such as loosening of the double fold, but various versions have been developed to reduce such complications.
The muscle which is responsible for lifting the upper eyelid is called levator muscle. Ptosis is a condition when the levator muscle is weak so the upper eyelids are drooping. Clinic/hospital performs a ptosis correction surgery only on needed cases after a thorough medical examination of a patient for determining the best way of correction. Various ptosis techniques are also used here.
Canthoplasty is a surgery to incise the medial or lateral fold of the eye to enhance the overall shape and/or size of the eye. It is usually performed with double eyelid surgery to create a more dramatic and satisfactory outcome. In general, the inner fold of the eye is removed for about 50 to 80% to create a natural look and the outer conners of the eyelids are incised in consideration of eyes’ characteristics.
Droopy eyelids and/or droopy eyebrows could damage your self-esteem and confidence. In such cases, the upper blepharoplasty/browpexy could be a solution. These procedures can also solve functional issues such as disruption of eyesight and festering eyes.
